Become the boss of your calendar (time-management)

Available places: 2

Self-leadership is essential for academics due to the independent nature of scientific work. However, the academic setting challenges our self-leadership skills and we might not be equipped to effectively and successfully lead ourselves . During this workshop you will learn how to become more in charge of your wellbeing, your calendar and your emotions. You will learn this through excercises, group discussions and self-reflection.

Maria Törnroos has a PhD in work and organizational psychology and is a work wellbeing expert. During her academic career, she has worked as, for example, a researcher at the University of Helsinki and as Assistant Professor at Hanken School of Economics. She currently works at Aalto University as Finland’s first and, for the time being, only (study) psychologist for doctoral students.

Her passion is creating humane workplaces, which focus on understanding employees and making sure they will be engaged, motivated and able to work at their full potential – now and in the future. You can read more about Maria’s ideas and thoughts in her PhD Pathfinder blog.
